A Sony Projector – How to Replace the Filter
A Sony projector can be particularly useful to a business owner, as it offers a way to present information to clients and staff without the need to gather everybody around a small computer screen. Proper maintenance of your projector helps to keep the unit operating at peak performance and may reduce the need to replace the device prematurely. Occasionally, the projector may display a message indicating a need to replace a specific component, such as the air filter. When this occurs, refer to your operating manual for the actual component part number needed. Wait for the projector to cool completely before installing replacement parts
Remove the power cord from the projector and turn it over. This allows you to gain access to the underside of the projector. Placing the projector on a towel or soft cloth may prevent the unit from potential scratches.
Locate the plate that covers the air filter near the front of the projector, and use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the screws that secure the plate to the projector. Place the plate to the side, taking care not to lose the screws.
Remove the filter from the projector. Prevent the dust from the used filter from falling inside the projector.
Press the new filter into the filter housing area of the projector. Use gentle pressure when installing the filter and do not touch the fan.
Secure the plate that covers the filter to the underside of the projector, and then turn the projector over carefully.
Reconnect the power cord.
