WHAT IS A PROJECTOR LAMP?

A projector lamp is the essential part of any projector; it shines light through a DLP or LCD system which in turn produces the fantastic images projectors are known for.

Technically known as ultra-high pressure mercury vapour ARC lamps, projector lamps are sometimes categorized as metal halide lamps.

Projector lamps operate by sending an electrical current across an ARC gap that is filled with ultra-high pressurized mercury vapor. The electricity lights the mercury vapour which then causes the lamp to emit a light with an extreme intensity or brightness

Projector lamps are available in 2 types: FEP (Front End Projection) and RP (Rear Projection)
